Terms of use
Last updated
These terms are an agreement between you, as a host, and TheHumbleHustler.io BV (company number 0727.441.897, RPR Gent, afdeling Gent, registered office Fraterstraat 190, 9820 Merelbeke, Belgium), which runs Huzzah. You accept them when you join Huzzah, and again whenever they change. How we handle your personal data is in the privacy notice.
1 What Huzzah is
Huzzah lets you build quizzes and present them in a room from your own screen. It is free. We keep working on it, so features can change, and like any software it can go wrong: keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose. If we ever stop offering Huzzah, we say so on your quizzes page at least 30 days before, so you have time to take what you need.
2 Your account
You can make an account if you are 16 or older. An account is for one person. Keep your sign-in to yourself: you are responsible for what is done with your account. An account stays until you delete it, even if you stop using it.
3 Your quizzes
What you create stays yours. You allow us to store, copy and display it only as far as needed to run Huzzah for you, and this permission ends when your content is deleted. Your quizzes and uploads are private to your account: nobody else can open them, and they are shown to an audience only when you present them.
An account holds up to 500 quizzes and 1 GB of pictures and sounds. Deleting a quiz deletes the pictures and sounds that no other quiz of yours uses.
You are responsible for what you present. Playing music or video to an audience, in a pub for example, can need a licence, and arranging it is up to you or your venue.
4 What you upload
Next to every upload, the builder says: “Upload only pictures and clips you own or have permission to use.”
By uploading a picture or a clip you confirm that you own it, or that whoever does has allowed you to use it the way you will use it, which includes showing it to your audience. You also confirm that it is not unlawful. We record this confirmation with every file.
5 Themes
Some themes are styled after television quiz formats. They are for private and informal quiz nights, not for broadcast, for recordings you publish or for commercial events. Huzzah is not connected to, or endorsed by, the makers of those programmes.
6 What you may not do
- Upload or present anything unlawful, or anything that infringes someone else's rights.
- Try to reach other hosts' accounts, quizzes or files, or the systems Huzzah runs on.
- Disrupt or overload the service, or get around its limits, including by making more than one account.
- Make accounts automatically, with a script or a bot.
- Share, sell or hand over your access.
7 Reporting unlawful content
Anyone can report a file on Huzzah they believe is unlawful, with or without an account, by writing to notice@huzzah.show. Please include:
- why you believe the content is unlawful;
- exactly where it is, which for a file is its address ending in
/media/followed by its id. We cannot act on a report that does not say where the content is; - your name and email address, unless the report concerns child sexual abuse material or another offence for which the law does not require them;
- a statement that you believe the information in your report is accurate and complete.
We confirm we have received your report. A person reviews every report: no automated tools are used to find or decide on content. If we withhold a file we tell the host who uploaded it and the person who reported it what we decided, why and how to challenge the decision.
8 Ending your access
You can delete your account at any time, from the account menu: your account, your quizzes and everything you uploaded are deleted straight away. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms. Unless the law or an urgent risk prevents it, we tell you beforehand and explain why.
9 Our responsibility
We provide Huzzah as it is, without promising that it will always be available or free of faults. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect loss or for lost content. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, or takes away rights you have as a consumer.
10 Changes to these terms
We announce a change at least 30 days before it applies, with a notice on your quizzes page, and list it below. Until then nothing changes for you, and you can delete your account at no cost. From that date you are asked to accept the new version before you save anything. You can always open and present your quizzes.
11 Law and disputes
Belgian law applies to these terms. Disputes go to the courts of Ghent, unless the law gives you, as a consumer, the right to go to the courts where you live.
